There will be two Mayhem Festivals in Sweden for 2008. The first event will be held in Gesunda 13th - 15th of June, and will be the season kick-off. The classic Mayhem Festival in Åre will take place between 4th - 10th August, for the 6th year running. This will be another action-packed 7 Day Freeride Festival. Below is general event infomation. Kabinbana - VM6: 6 seater chair lift - Hummlen chair lift - Gondolen 900M Vertical Drop and Over 40km of trail networks 2008 opening times are from 10:00 - 16:00 all summer. During the Mayhem Festival we have 'extended play' until 18:00 on select days. See program schedule. The trail itself is about 3km in length, and 400m vertical drop. The grade is intermediate (blue) with a freeride flow to it. The trail finishes at Hummlen station, but connects with several other trails to bring you down the remaining 500m vertical to the base lift stations. Pro Freestyle Wakeboard Event: *To be confirmed. Beach Volleyball & BBQ: To take a break from the saddle, we will have some of volleyball on Åre beach two evenings during the week. There will be an open BBQ grill free to use. Bring and cook your own food. Tunes will be spinning from the Red Bull unit. Mayhem Pass: Win Prizes, Savings and Giveaways Get yourself a 'Mayhem Pass' get super discounts on local bike shops, restaurants and activities all during the festival week. Every day we will be giving away prizes at 13:30 at the main sponsor area. Mayhem staff will be selecting only people with the mayhem pass to win prizes. Extended Play: An extra 2 hours of chair lift access can be enjoyed at Åre Bike Park on Tuesday 5th and Friday 8th Movie Night's at Tott Hotel: A selection of the latest freeride movies will be shown at Tott Hotel, 3 nights during the week, from 20:00 Monday, Wednesday and Friday. Retail & Exhibitor Area: The very best in the mountain bike industry are present at Mayhem exhibitor area 2008. MEDIA: RipTV: We will partner with Rip.TV and broadcast all footage of the mayhem festival globally. Silentstorm Productions: The film crew SilentStorm, will be capturing the action all week.
