Alternativ 1:
E18 till Enköping.
Väg 70 över Sala, Avesta, Borlänge till Leksand.
Strax innan Leksand, ta av vänster mot Siljansnäs/Sollerön.
Vägen mot Sollerön, 42 km naturskön väg utmed Siljans västra strand.
Skyltning Gesundaberget.
Alternativ 2:
E4 norrut till Gävle
Väg 80 mot Falun. I Falun, fortsätt väg 80 mot Rättvik.

Road Directions:
From Leksand through Siljansnäs towards Gesunda. Drive past the shops in Mora and the outskirts of the village, take a left following the signs for Gesundaberget/Tomteland.
From Mora towards Malung, take a left at the sign for Ryssa, travel through Ryssa and at the start of Gesunda, take a right at the sign towards Gesundaberget/Tomteland.
From Stockholm
Alternative 1:
E18 tol Enköping.

How to get to Åre
Being a major ski resort, there are a few different routes to take. Below is travel info for Sweden, Norway,
Denmark, Finland, UK and Germany on routes, costs and relevant operators.
Prices quoted on flight information should be used as a guideline, as they are subject to change from the time
they were taken.
Travelling within Sweden
By Car
There are good roads all the way to Åre.
From Stockholm, take the E4 up to Sundsvall, and then the E14.
Distances:
Stockholm - Åre 630 KM (takes about 7-8 hours)
Gothenburg - Åre 890 km (takes 10 - 12 hours)
Malmö - Åre 1100 KM
By Train
Åre train station is located less than a hundred meters from the town square. There are several departures every day.
The is also the option of an overnight direct train. Buy a ticket with a bed/cabin. The train leaves Stockholm about
midnight, and arrives in Åre around 8am.
Cost approximately 1200KR (130€) for a return ticket. Train goes from Stockholm, Gothenburg and Malmoe. For information

*Note: Taking your bike on the train, you need to bag it up. Swedish Rail will not allow you to simply roll your bike
on complete. Bag it up, (take the wheels off, turn the handlebars sideways, wrap it up in black plastic bag) and
'then' it is counted as a piece of luggage.

Taxi service from Östersund Airport to Åre
Åre Taxi will provide a special shuttle service to take you, and a trailer for your bike from Östersund airport, to Åre.
Prices are:
From 1 to 4 people, total price = 1070 SEK (€117)
From 5 to 8 people total price = 1270 (€139)
The journey takes about an hour. So for 4 people travelling, it will cost 270 SEK (27 Euro) each.
If you are not traveling in a group, inform Åre Taxi that you are willing to 'Share' the ride - it might be possible
to bundle you together with another person so you can split the fare and save some money.
